| Q1 |
The indicator lights do not come on. |
| A1 |
Check for incoming power with a low impedance volt-meter. Using a high impedance voltmeter, especially on AC volts can sometimes be misleading. You require 12 to 26 VDC or 110 to 240 VAC to operate our switches. |

| Q2 |
The FAULT indicator is on and flashes 2 different displays. |
| A2 |
There is a fault with your switch. One display shows the software revision in 2 digit HEX code on the left side, and the MODBUS address on the right side. The second display shows the actual fault as follows:
50% - Heater shorted 55% - Heater open 60% - Heated RTD shorted
65% - Heated RTD open 70% - Reference RTD shorted 75% - Reference RTD open

| Q3 |
How can I manually check the probe? |
| A3 |
Use an OHM METER and check these resistances. These values are approximate and may vary depending on ambient temperature.
RED to RED 50 Ohms BLUE to BLUE 0 Ohms BLACK to BLACK 0 Ohms
BLUE to YELLOW 1100 Ohms BLACK to WHITE 1100 Ohms RED to any other lead Infinite BLUE to BLACK Infinite
Any other readings indicate that the probe may be defective. The probe is not field repairable.

| Q4 |
Why can't I get any 4-20 mA loop current from my CLASSIC switch? |
| A4 |
The CLASSIC and FXT switches do not have a 4-20 mA loop. Only the KXT has this feature. |
| |
| Q5 |
Why can't I get any 4-20 mA loop current from my KXT switch? |
| A5 |
The KXT switch requires an external loop supply in order to operate. This can be supplied from any 12 to 24 VDC supply as this port is isolated from the KXT circuitry. Different methods of using this 4-20 mA loop are described in the manual. |
| |
| Q6 |
My 4-20 mA loop reads differently from my Thermal Signal display. |
| A6 |
Using the KFLOW software, check the settings for the 4-20 mA loop. It may be set to respond to the process temperature and not the Thermal Delta. |
| |
| Q7 |
The keyboard on my CLASSIC or KXT does not function. |
| A7 |
Using the KFLOW software, check to make sure that the keyboard has not been locked out. If it has, enable the keyboard, or configure the switch from the software. Usually, the keyboard has been locked to prevent others from changing critical settings. |
| |
| Q8 |
Why don't the relays switch immediately when a set point has been reached? |
| A8 |
There has been a time delay set for the set point. |
| |
| Q9 |
Why does the BYPASS light come on when I power up the switch? |
| A9 |
The BYPASS timer has been set. |
| |
| Q10 |
Why does the FAULT light not go out as soon as a fault has been cleared? |
| A10 |
The FAULT timer has been set. |
| |
| Q11 |
I want my relays to be energized whenever the switch is functioning properly. Can I set this? |
| A11 |
Yes. You can do this through software or from the keyboard on the CLASSIC and KXT. To select FAIL SAFE mode, press the SET button until Relay 1 is selected.
Press the RIGHT arrow so that the 70% to 100% LEDs are illuminated. The relay will now be energized until the Relay 1 set point is reached.
Do the same thing for Relay 2. The function of the relay contacts will change, ie: the NC contacts now become NO and the NO contacts become NC when the switch is powered up.
