| Electrical Connections: |
| To assemble the electrical connections to the BASIC, it is
necessary to remove the electronics module by using the following steps: |
| 1. |
Remove the cover by first turning the external stainless steel locking screw
clockwise with a 5/32" Allen Key and then turning the cover counterclockwise. |
| 2. |
Observe proper ESD (Electro Static Discharge) handling procedures when
removing, handling and storing the electronics module. Electrostatic discharge
may damage the electronics! Never place the electronics module on a surface or
pass it to another person in a way that would allow an electrostatic discharge
to pass through it.
| 3. |
To remove the electronics module, unscrew (counterclockwise) the 2 plastic
knobbed fasteners then pull on both evenly and upwards. Be careful with the
sensor cable that is attached to the bottom of the electronics module. |
| 4. |
Once the module is removed, disconnect the sensor cable by pushing on the black
release lever and gently pulling (with fingers) on the corners of the small
black connector. Do not pull on the wires. The use of pliers may damage the
connector. |
| 5. |
Once the module has been removed, you can make the electrical connections to
the bottom of the BASIC electronics module as required. |
| 6. |
To replace the electronics module in its enclosure, repeat steps 1 through 6 in
reverse order. The cable from the sensor to the module can be gently placed
between the outside of the two mounting posts located on the inside of the
enclosure. |
