Standard Products

Standard Products are eligible for the 60-Day 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. If you purchased new Standard Products directly from Kayden Instruments ("Kayden"), or an Authorized Kayden Distributor you may return them to the place of purchase up to 60 days from the date of invoice for a refund or credit of the Product purchase price provided the quantity of Products does not exceed twentyfive units (nominal restocking fees apply to only those quantities exceeding twenty-five units).

Custom Products

Custom Products are not eligible for this guarantee as they are manufactured specifically to the Customer’s individual and unique requirements. Reconditioned or refurbished Products from Kayden may be returned to Kayden up to 30 days after the date of invoice for a refund or credit of the Product purchase price. Please note refunds or credits will not include any charges for special documentation, special equipment, special services, special approvals, drawings, certificates, equipment tags, setpoints, flow curves, x-rays, dye penetration tests, opened software, shipping or insurance shown on your invoice. Review the Return Policy in detail.

Kayden offers the following:
  • 60 calendar days from the date of invoice.
  • Up to twenty-five (25) Standard Products of any type or combination per order. Example: Customer purchases 15 CLASSICs and 10 BASICs on one order. Should the Customer, for any reason, be unsatisfied with any or all of the Products, he/she may return any or all of them for a full refund.

For larger orders Kayden expects the Customer to first order an appropriate number to determine suitability, compatibility and satisfactory performance for the intended purpose and process.

Of course, if the Customer wishes to forego the test phase, and purchases a large quantity of Products, Kayden’s applicable limited warranty will apply. Only the first twentyfive (25) Standard Products will be eligible to participate in Kayden’s 60-Day 100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee.

We at Kayden prefer our Customers to put our Products ‘through their paces’ before committing to large scale orders - because we understand the more analysis a party performs upfront, the more satisfied they’ll be with the long term results.

Kayden believes once Customer satisfaction is in place, sales will follow.

Review our Return Policy and complete the Return Authorization Form to obtain a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) Number. Returns without this authorization may not be accepted.

This "60-Day 100% Satisfaction Guarantee" Return Policy does not apply to Kayden Accessory Products, which may be returned under Kayden’s then-current Accessory Return Policy. See Kayden Accessory Return Policy. In addition, reconditioned parts purchased through Kayden Spare Parts Sales in the United States and Canada are non-returnable.

Accessories

If you bought new Kayden Accessory Products directly from Kayden, you may return the as-new Products to Kayden up to 30 days from the date of invoice for a refund or credit of the Product purchase price. Custom Accessories are not eligible for the Accessory 30-Day 100% Satisfaction Guarantee as they are manufactured specifically to the Customer’s individual and unique requirements. End-user Customers who bought reconditioned or refurbished Accessories from Kayden may return them to Kayden up to 10 days after the date of invoice for a refund or credit of the Product purchase price.

Please note the refund or credit will not include any charges for special documentation, special equipment, special services, special approvals, drawings, certificates, equipment tags, setpoints, flow curves, x-rays, dye penetration tests, opened software, shipping or insurance shown on your invoice. Expediting the Process of Your Return

To expedite the process of your refund or credit, Kayden expects you to return the Products to Kayden in their original or equivalent packaging within 10 days of the date that Kayden issues the Return Materials Authorization Number. Returns arriving outside of the ten-day window are subject to depreciation of the final refund/credit. Incomplete returns may not be credited. You must also prepay shipping charges and insure the shipment or accept the risk of loss or damage during shipment. You may return software for refund or credit only if the sealed package containing the diskette(s) or CD(s) is unopened. Returned Products must be in as-new condition, and all of the manuals, diskette(s), CD(s), and other items included with a Product must be returned with it.

This Accessory Return Policy does not apply to Kayden ‘Standard Products’, which may be returned under Kayden’s then current "60-Day 100% Satisfaction Guarantee" Return Policy.

Some restrictions and limitations apply.

Exclusions

Returns (within the 60-Day 100% Satisfaction Guarantee) that may not be accepted include Products that have been damaged resulting from: (a) improper or inadequate maintenance or calibration; (b) software, interfacing, parts or supplies not supplied by Kayden; (c) unauthorized repair, maintenance or modification; (d) usage not in accordance with Product instructions; (e) operation outside of the published operating specifications for the Product; (f) improper site preparation or maintenance; (g) problems with electrical power; (h) accident, abuse, negligence, misapplication, misuse, loss or damage in transit; (i) Products that are altered or modified in any way; or (j) exposure to corrosive or abrasive environments.

Customer Responsibilities Before Contacting Kayden

Before contacting Kayden for return of your Kayden product, please prepare by:

  • Reviewing the Returns section.
  • Locating your invoice number and proof of purchase date, indicated on your receipt, invoice, etc.

Products Defined:

Standard Thermal Dispersion Switches

Standard Thermal Switches are defined as having one attribute from each of the following sections:

  1) Application (flow, level, interface or temperature): Any
2) Material of Construction: 316L Stainless Steel.
3) Threaded Process Connection: 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", 1 1/2" or 2" MNPT
4) Insertion ‘U’ Lengths of 1.2", 2", 4", 6", 9", 12", 18" or 24" (Also included are standard threaded 1" MNPT Retractable Packing Glands with any of the following standard Insertion ‘U’ Lengths: 6", 12", 18", 24", 36", 48" or 60")
5) Input Power: Any
6) Remote Electronics Enclosure: Switches with or without standard Remote Electronics Enclosures are considered ‘Standard’.
7) Outputs: Any
8) Agency Approvals: Any approval maintained by Kayden.
9) Language: Any

Custom Thermal Dispersion Switches

Custom Thermal Switches are defined as having any attribute from one or more of the following sections:

  1) A non-standard Insertion ‘U’ Length.
2) A Flanged process connection.
3) A Retractable Packing Gland Assembly with a threaded process connection AND a non-standard Insertion ‘U’ Length.
4) Flanged Packing Gland Assembly.
5) Special Material of Construction: Titanium, Hastelloy or any material other than 316L Stainless Steel.
6) A Remote Electronics Enclosure other than Kayden’s standard Remote Electronics Enclosure (A standard remote electronics enclosure is one that is explosion proof and capable of housing only one (1) Kayden Electronics Module; Cover may be blind or lens).
7) Customer Requested Special Agency Approvals.
